For GDPR purposes we act as the data controller for personal data collected through this site. We have not appointed a data protection officer; data protection queries go to granko87@gmail.com.

Depending on how you use the site, we may process: technical data from your browser or device (such as IP address, user agent, and approximate location derived by analytics providers), usage data (pages viewed, referrer, timestamps), and any data you voluntarily send us (for example if you email us). We do not require you to create an account to read articles.

We collect personal data only directly from your interactions with this site and from any correspondence you send us. We do not buy, scrape, or enrich personal data from third parties.

We process data that is strictly necessary to deliver and secure the website (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR—legitimate interests in operating a secure, functional service; in some cases Art. 6(1)(b) if necessary to perform steps you request).

Where we use analytics or similar technologies that go beyond what is strictly necessary, we rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie controls linked in the footer; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

We use the following storage and measurement technologies:

Essential (no consent required): a localStorage entry that records your cookie-consent choice so we can respect it on later visits. This entry persists until you clear it or it expires after 12 months. Until you explicitly consent, we do not set non-essential cookies or load third-party analytics.

Optional analytics (consent required): if you choose "Accept all" in our cookie banner, we load Vercel Web Analytics, which collects aggregated usage data (pages viewed, referrer, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type). Vercel acts as our processor. You can withdraw consent at any time through the cookie controls linked in the footer; your updated choice is saved in localStorage.

We use infrastructure and service providers to host and operate the site. For example, the site may be hosted on Vercel (USA) and use a database provider such as Supabase. Those providers process data on our instructions as processors. We select providers that offer appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses where relevant.

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described, unless a longer period is required by law.

Indicative retention: server and access logs are rotated within 30 days; aggregated Vercel Analytics data is retained according to Vercel's published retention (typically up to 12 months); your cookie-consent choice in localStorage persists until you clear it or expires after 12 months; email correspondence is kept for up to 3 years for dispute, accounting, and legal defence purposes, or longer where required by law.

Under the GDPR, if you are in the EEA or UK (and where similar laws apply), you may have the right to: access your personal data, have it rectified or erased, restrict or object to certain processing, obtain portability of data you provided, and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal). You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

We will respond without undue delay and in any event within one month of receipt, with a possible extension of up to two further months for complex or numerous requests (we will inform you of any such extension and the reasons for it).

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects on you within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
