NVIDIA has launched Ising, the world's first open-source family of AI models designed specifically to accelerate quantum computing. Named after physicist Ernst Ising, the models help researchers design and optimize quantum processors to run commercially useful applications. Unlike conventional quantum simulation tools, the Ising models use AI to predict circuit behavior and identify error-correction patterns — potentially compressing years of quantum hardware development into months. NVIDIA is positioning itself as essential infrastructure for what it calls the "quantum-classical hybrid" era, where AI and quantum computing evolve in tandem. Researchers at IBM, IonQ, and Google Quantum AI are among the first expected partners for testing the models.
