Meta is raising US prices on its Quest VR headsets starting April 19. The entry-level Quest 3S climbs from $299.99 to $349.99, and the Quest 3 jumps $100 to $599.99. Meta blames surging memory chip costs driven by massive demand from AI data-center buildouts — the same DRAM and high-bandwidth memory that powers training clusters is now in short supply across downstream products. It is one of the clearest consumer-facing signs that the AI infrastructure boom is spilling into unrelated hardware markets. Meta itself is planning $115 to $135 billion of AI capital expenditure in 2026, roughly double last year's, while simultaneously squeezing headset margins. Expect more consumer-electronics price hikes as the memory crunch continues through 2026.
