TechTimes and CNBC report that Nvidia has rolled out stringent new compliance checks on its Asian customers to stop AI chips from being rerouted to China through third parties. The "whitelist" system has disqualified more than half of past buyers, with tighter scrutiny in Singapore, Malaysia and Japan involving contract validation and end-user interviews. Separately, a senior US trade official said "very few" of Nvidia's H200 chips have actually shipped to China and Hong Kong under existing licenses. The moves reflect Nvidia adapting to US export controls that have effectively erased its China data-center revenue, which the company now forecasts at zero. Instead it's pivoting toward new markets, including an aggressive push into the CPU business. The tighter net shows how thoroughly geopolitics now shapes the AI hardware supply chain.
