Unite.AI reports that Satya Nadella published a weekend essay responding to Dario Amodei's call for frontier labs to pace themselves, saying Microsoft welcomes the deliberate pacing needed to make alignment a design goal. Nadella wrote that any pursuit of superintelligence must be grounded in the principle that if the AI being built is not helping humanity and under human control, it is not worth pursuing. He also backed ideas like embedded evaluators, and said Microsoft would publish the code of conduct behind its first-party MAI models on September 14 for public consultation.
