Meta's new AI agent app Muse has climbed to No. 2 on the US App Store, but TechCrunch reports the underlying numbers are modest. Citing Sensor Tower data, it puts US iOS downloads at just over 83,000 since Tuesday's launch. For comparison, Threads saw more than 4.3 million US downloads on its first day, and the Meta AI app managed 108,000 on debut. On Android, Muse sits around No. 338 in Google Play's Productivity category. Muse is US-only for now and also reachable via web and WhatsApp, which these estimates exclude. TechCrunch frames the real contest as Muse versus Instinct, the text-message agent recently valued at $2.5 billion.
